sibilantsyllables Asked: I think you misunderstand. I was laughing at you. I am a vegan, but your logic is utter bullshit.

And I’m explaining that what I posted was an attack towards someone I know who used that example as an argument.

No offense but you should probably know what’s actually going on before commenting on something someone else has posted.

Commercial eggs are basically chicken periods.

That’s the difference.

(Also, fertilized eggs develop without reliance on the mother’s body in chickens where as it does in humans, if you’d like another.)

This was actually an attack towards someone who was trying to force their view of womens rights (or what they don’t believe women’s rights should be) onto me. I guess there’s a thank you needed for an answer though incase anyone wanted to know it. Next time I’ll be making myself clearer though..

Vegan Double Choc Cookies & Potato & Pumpkin Curry

Okay; first off I apologize for not having a separate picture for both dishes! I only had my camera phone with me and well.. also completely forgot! Either way here are both recipes as well as what you’ll need;

Fake ‘Mince’ Curry

500g fake mince (Quorn, Tofu crushed up, nutmeg loaf are some alternatives, eggplant works well too!)
2 cans diced tomato
1 can coconut milk
1 onion (diced)
1 garlic clove (crushed or two teaspoons of minced garlic)
6 small potatos (diced)
1 small pumpkin (diced)
2 tablespoons curry powder
1/4 cup oil

1. Preheat/cook the pumpkin & potato so that their soft for later. You can do this by zapping them in the microwave for a few minutes.
2. In a pan, heat up the oil and add onion and garlic too it, stirring until they’ve coloured.
3. Add in your mince alternative and continue to cook until brown adding in curry powder as needed to taste.
4. Chuck in your pumpkin & potato; add your tomato and cook for about 3 minutes unti the water from the tomatos starts to evaporate.
5. Pour in coconut milk and then let is simmer for 30 minutes. The end result should resemble a ‘butter chicken’ looking dish.
6. Serve on base of rice or couscous and spinach leaves.

This recipe will make enough for 4! Adding mushrooms, beans, chickpeas, carrot and large tofu pieces also works wonders.

Doube ‘Choc’ Cookies

250g plan flour
40g cocoa powder
1 tsp bicarb soda
200g sugar (white or brown)
100g margarine
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs or ‘no egg’ replacement (let it sit for a while so that it fluffs up)
Handful of ‘choc’ pieces. (Sweet Williams works wonders with this)

1. Preheat oven to 180oC
2. Mix margarine and sugar together until blended thoroughly.
3. Gradually add eggs and then vanilla essence. Keep stirring to ensure consistency.
4. Add flour, bicarb and cocoa all in one go so that it makes for mixing easier. Adding in one after the other seems to not make them blend as well if doing this mix by hand.
5. Scoop out teaspoons of mixture onto a greased tray.
6. Cook for 8 to 15 minutes depending on if you want them gooey and squishy in the centre or would rather then tougher and more crisp.

For those who are interested here’s a quick shot at the ingredients used for the cookies:
